Linda had drawn a large S shape ( a female back ) for them to see how a simple flowing line, can be an interpretation.
Plus the idea of using black ( maybe one colour ) and the
negative shapes within.
( black is such a negative, yet can be an overpowering colour, that the reaction when using can be confusing. )
With this class, which went under the heading of Women's Studies, they were learning history. One section for instance, went back several centuries in Russia,
( is still actually to this day a major dig, near Leningrad )
More history was found and examined, because of the women writing to friends etc, and by that it was shown as to the importance of women being able to teach and lessons to be learnt through everyday life, though, they were supposed to be the minority in the 'mans' world ...

Apart from one, these girls had not had any training in the art form, and by my giving them freedom, they were surprised as to what they could actually lay on the paper ...
In fact ... they were proud to
be able to exhibit in the
foyer of the campus...
and it gave Linda a smile.
